Permanent exhibitionsEXPOSITION OF APPLIED ARTS includes the development of the European applied arts from the ancient times up to the present in the chronological order. The remarkably rich set of art items from the collections of glass, ceramics, china, textile, tapestries, furniture, woodcuts, clocks, old printings, jewellery, metal and others offers an aesthetic experience as well as plenty of information about the changing trends in artistic styles during the centuries. EXPOSITION OF THE LIBEREC AREA NATURE This exposition approaches the animate and also inanimate nature of the Liberec Region. The largest part is devoted to the Jizera Mountains, next section introduces the nature of the Ještěd's ridge, the Frýdlant area and Bohemian Paradise to visitors; even the nature strongly influenced by human is not omitted. Textual and photographic exhibition panels are accompanied with a number of small dioramas with an amount of fauna and also flora. Two unique dioramas dominate the exhibition, depicting accurately the environment of beechwood and ponds also with their typical inhabitants. clarifies the significant turning points in the history of the Liberec Region since the 12th century to the year 1918. The instructive texts, archival documents, plans, maps, models, prints, paintings and art exhibits from the respective historical periods contribute to the detailed knowledge. The collection of items on display introduces the gradual transformation of the Liberec Region into the modern industrial resort. The separate exhibition section is devoted to the construction and administrative development of the town of Liberec. introduces the collection of devices and instruments that (re)produces music automatically and arouses the visitor´s attention thanks to the workmanship and resourcefulness of almost forgotten skills. Most of those on display (e.g. pianos - made by the local producers, polyphones, intones, barrel organs, and orchestrions) are still working so they can be admired by eye-sight as well as by hearing. are on display in the separate exposition that includes the selected collection of pieces created by the Czech and other authors bound to this region. They represent a wide variety of artistic opinions, subjects and styles since the end of the 19th century to the year 1945. |
